Fact or Fiction?

When it comes to chiropractic care there are all sorts of myths out there. We’ve met the apprehensive patient that has found relief in giving chiropractic a try. Here are some of the top myths that we hear when those new to chiropractic call us or enter through our doors.Myths of Chiropractic

1. Chiropractors or Bone Crackers

The traditional sound caused with chiropractic adjustments is not from cracking bones! This is from the release of gases that are produced as side products of the synovial fluid that lubricates your joints. At movement points, or joints, synovial fluid is used to help lubricate the motion that you generally enjoy. When a joint is misaligned, oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide build up and are unable to be released as the byproducts of the synovial fluids found in joints. Once a joint is opened up, or put back into alignment, then those gases are released and the audible sound of the carbon dioxide being released can be heard.

2. Chiropractic Care is Expensive

The Chiropractic Center of Kennesaw accepts multiple insurance policies, and offers affordable adjustments. We would prefer to work with a patient and find a way to make care reachable for them, rather than let them go on suffering.

3. Chiropractic Care is Ongoing

At the Chiropractic Center of Kennesaw, we do not require that you come in regularly. However, many of our patients choose to see us on a regular basis just as many individuals choose to see their primary physicians on an annual basis. The choice is completely up to you!
